The first film sees Chucky brought home by Andy, who he manipulates and frames for his actions. Andy's mom discovers the truth and the pair kill Chucky, but like Jason Voorhees before him, he is resurrected by electricity just in time for the sequel. Chucky follows Andy to his next home, then to military school.
Bride of Chucky (1998) continues the story, with Chucky being resurrected by a former accomplice and girlfriend Tiffany Valentine (Jennifer Tilly). After transferring Tiffany's soul into a bride doll, the two terrorize a young couple in an attempt to transfer their souls into human bodies.
Upon tracking down his parents, who are now puppets in one of Jennifer Tilly's films, Glen uses a voodoo amulet (the "Heart of Damballa") to bring them back to life. Shortly afterwards, when Chucky finds out that Glen is his child, he faints.
Tiffany sews Chucky back together and uses the book Voodoo for Dummies to resurrect him; once he rises, she says she's been searching for him for ten years. That means the events of Bride and CP3 happened in immediate succession, and that both movies took place in 1998.
Chucky believes isn't just an ordinary serial killer, he believes he's a vessel for Damballa – the being who Chucky beseeched to transfer his soul into the doll – and it's this that gives him his extraordinary strength despite being a two-foot tall doll.
Unfortunately, as is so often the case, that Good Guy doll has been possessed by the spirit of a serial killer, the notorious Charles Lee Ray. After gruesomely murdering several people in Andy's life, Chucky attempts to transfer his soul into Andy so that he can be a real boy.

He proceeds to transfer her soul into the bridal doll, to make her understand what it is like to be trapped in a doll body. For the both of them to be human again, Chucky explains to her a plan to use his old voodoo amulet to transfer their souls into new bodies. Tiffany's bridal doll.

There was not a doll named “Chucky” or a real serial Killer named “Charles Lee Ray” (bonus points if you can guess how that name was chosen). The inspiration came from the stories about Robert the Doll. Robert was given to a boy named Robert Otto, by a man who is said to have practiced black magic.
With the new information offered by Chucky's long-awaited backstory for Charles Lee Ray, merged with the doll's subsequent shelf life, Chucky is officially, as of 2021, a 64-year-old soul hiding behind an eternally youthful visage.

The first Child's Play (1988) kept harping on the fact that the only way Chucky can be killed is if he's shot in the heart. Obviously, this isn't exactly the case as he keeps coming back to life, but it did kill him for two years until the sequel.

Glen was completely opposite from his father Chucky and his twin sister, Glenda. Even though he was Chucky's son, who was cruel, malevolent and sadistic, Glen is strikingly meek, kind and compassionate. His parents had their different reactions to his gentle nature.
The 2019 remake incarnation of Chucky doesn't count as Pure Evil given that such version is a robotic doll who was programmed to be evil since it was assembled, causing moral agency issues, as well as genuinely caring for Andy.
